Bio: Synthesizing Information through Design & Logic
I am Joy Lee, a Senior Designer based in Hong Kong with over 8 years of experience in editorial design, digital products, and data-driven storytelling. My journey has been defined by a deep curiosity for Information Architecture—specifically, how to transform high-density, complex data into intuitive human experiences.
Throughout my career at The Witness, I pioneered the use of Data Visualization to decode legal complexities for the public, serving a significant readership in the independent media sector. This experience ignited my profound interest in the synergy between design and advanced technology.
Driven by this curiosity, I recently undertook a personal exploration: developing 'Skin Decoder', my first AI-powered web application. This project served as my initial venture into 'AI vibe coding', where I leveraged Large Language Models (LLMs) as coding agents to architect the app’s logical flows and algorithmic execution. By bridging my design vision with this novel engineering approach, I demonstrated my capacity to manage the entire product lifecycle.
Seeking to evolve my practice further, I now aim to formalize my understanding of Artificial Intelligence. My goal is to solve large-scale informational challenges by creating systems that are not only aesthetically precise but architecturally intelligent.
Moving chaos all around me, while I was still finding logic in the pixels. Just another day at the old studio.
